BURLINGTON — A Burlington woman faces more charges in a wreck in Elon that killed an 86-year-old man last month.
The Times-News of Burlington reports the North Carolina Highway Patrol has charged 40-year-old Jeanette Lynn Miles with involuntary manslaughter.
Investigators say Miles ran a red light on Nov. 15 and hit a minivan driven by Haywood King, who was thrown from his vehicle.
King died three days later at University of North Carolina Hospitals in Chapel Hill.
Miles was also injured in the wreck. She initially had been charged with reckless driving, running a stop light and failure to wear a seat belt.
It was not clear if Miles has an attorney.
