GARNER, N.C. (AP) — Wake County deputies say a 3-year-old boy was in a Garner home when his father and mother were shot to death.

Investigators say the bodies of 34-year-old Jose Samual Flores Mendoza and his 34-year-old wife Maria Saravia Mendoza were found around 12:30 a.m. Saturday after a neighbor called 911 because she heard loud noises.

Authorities say the couple's 3-year-old boy was in the home, but was not harmed. The Mendozas also have a 12-year-old child.

Deputies don't think either victim was responsible for the killings, but they are still gathering evidence.
