Stimulus is stimulating to consider

The federal government is planning to hand out hundreds, even thousands of dollars to citizens as a way to stimulate the economy and keep the country out of a recession. The plan is to get people to spend more as a way to stir up business, create a stronger market and keep people working. The goal is good, but isn’t one of our problems that we already spend more than we have and don’t save enough?

Oh my gosh, did you ever hit the mark with that statement. I am sick, yes sick of spending beyond one’s means, government or personal. To me, it goes against the American way. I know, some would say it is the American way. In practice it does seem to be. In theory, never!!! Borrow, yes, but, pay back before borrowing more. I am furious that the plan is to give back taxes. I can tell you I don’t like taxing people either. However, to give money back to people who in some cases paid no taxes to blow on future spending is ludicrous. The present problem is evidently caused by the sub prime market (courtesy of Congress to cover up the dot.com debacle). I don’t feel sorry one bit for people who bought homes out of their league. When are people going to take responsibility for themselves? The only people I have a real concern for are the builder and construction worker.

If the politicians would quit being so self-serving and fix the problems plaguing America we wouldn’t have to be experiencing this as a widespread problem.

My sentiments have nothing to do with people who are hurting because of conditions beyond their control. I encourage and participate in contributing to charities.

All I have to say is…”Why did it take so long to make a decision about this?” Shall I say more…
