Curfew forum is Sept. 9
Elizabeth City residents and officials are heading down the track on another curfew decision. At least this year, unlike the last, a public forum will be held to hear from residents and officials on what would be best for the city and its teenagers. That forum is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 9, at 6:30 p.m., at the Pasquotank County Courthouse. What’s being recommended is changing the current weekday curfew hour from 11 p.m. until 10 p.m. for youth under age 18. The aim is to protect teens from finding trouble on the streets and/or preventing trouble from finding them. Both are reasonable goals. Yet, several questions need to be asked and answered, including: Why one hour will make a difference?. Also, a curfew isn’t worth the official stationary it’s written on unless it can be enforced. Does the city have special plans, tactics, etc., to enforce the curfew? How has enforcement worked on the current curfew? Additionally, will there be special provisions for underage teens who work past the curfew hour? And will parents be held accountable? There are probably many other questions. Let the discussion begin.

Hello. :)
“The birth took place at the couple’s home (just outside Oslo),” says the palace, adding mother and baby were both well. Bye.
