Busy as a Bee

Have you ever seen a bee working his little stinger off? Well, I felt like that for most of this week. My husband and I are transferring to Kodiak, Alaska this summer and on Tuesday and Wednesday, we had our household goods shipment. What this means to all of you non-military type, is the Coast Guard came to my house, literally packed everything I own in boxes on one day. Then the next day, the moving company loaded those boxes into crates and will deliver them to a Navy vessel to be shipped to Alaska. Sounds easy right? I mean, I’m not doing any of the work, so why should I be stressed and tired? HA! Even though I didn’t literally pack anything or crate one single box, I was mentally stressed by watching strangers pack my personal belongings. I had to make sure things did not break or get scratched. Plus I fed these people, gave them drinks and tried to make their day a little bit better. Thankfully now though, we are out of our house…SOLD…and will live on the CG base in our RV. Can you imagine two adults, two small boys living in a 32 foot Class C RV? Crazy. So as I continually organize the RV trying to maximize space and functionality, I think of a bumblebee and how busy their little life can be. So this weekend, my goal is a slow down…maybe I’ll be more like a slug or snail. Nahhh…that’s way too slow for me.

Hang in there Charly! You will be missed around these parts but fortunately you can keep the world updated on life as a Coastie via this blog, if you choose to accept the assignment. We hope that you do. Here’s wishing you and the family calm seas and safe journeys. Vio con Dios.
