Rain moves Vets Day events indoors
Coinjock, Edenton honor area veterans

Adverse weather conditions didn’t stop local citizens from attending Veterans Day ceremonies in Coinjock and Edenton, two of the only events in the area that weren’t rained out.

After its last public library closed in 1957, the ribbon was finally cut and the doors opened on a brand new Moyock Public Library on Wednesday afternoon.

A proposed YMCA in the Maple area will cost the county $12 million and open no later than December 2011, if not sooner, Currituck County officials said Monday.

Of course, deer is in season and bear season starts soon, but seasons for some small game have already begun as well.

Area school districts pass out hundreds of report cards every year, but on Thursday, the tables were turned.
