On Monday at 10:09 p.m., officers of the Edenton Police Department responded to an armed robbery/home invasion that occurred at 211 W. Church Street.
According to Police Chief Jay Fortenbery, the suspect knocked on the rear door of the residence and entered the residence armed with two handguns demanding money.
The suspect is described as a black male, five feet, 11 inches tall, slim build, wearing dark-colored clothing and a black silk-looking scarf.
The victim was not injured and the suspect fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money and the victim’s .22 handgun revolver.
The Elizabeth City Police Department assisted at the scene with the use of a K-9 unit for tracking but the suspect was not located.
An investigation is underway and anyone with information relating to the robbery/home invasion is asked to call Sgt. Laura Wilkins at 482-5144.
