Travelers interested in stopping at the Harbor of Hospitality now have, in advance, the ability to check for details via their handheld devices.

That is because the Elizabeth City Area Convention & Visitors Bureau is a featured destination on “Travel North Carolina,” a go-to mobile guide for exploring the Tar Heel State.

Geared toward iPhone and Droid mobile phone users, the free application has been launched as a way for travelers to access travel information while exploring North Carolina. The application is a partnership with Our State magazine and the Convention & Visitors Bureau.

Travelers may click on http://www.ourstate.com/app/ and choose from one of six North Carolina regions to explore.

Within each region, they may select from themed tours.

Once they are in the Elizabeth City tour, they may choose from area points of interest, each with a landing page that includes everything from a photo and site description to turn-by-turn directions.
