About 50 Elizabeth City State University students gathered under the wooden shelter of an outdoor classroom Tuesday afternoon to protest tuition increases and call on the General Assembly to restore funding for education.

Occupy ECSU?
What planet do these students live on? The cost of everything has gone up continuously, just look around! The cost hikes don't target ECSU, so there is no point in bringing in the NAACP, this is across the entire university system. And in related news, ROTC students are just like the rest of the military, you don't show up at a protest in uniform.

everyone of us living in NC has to endure taz increases. it is the cost of living here.
It has really come's to the point where I don't give a damn what the NAACP wnnt or says. If a student want the higher education without paying then tough. I don't understand why there is not a UWA (united white Assoc) and a white united college fund.
You wnat to go to school, then pay for it just like the rest of us.

This issue has been in the paper for months. It is assumed that college students read the paper. I am sure it has been discussed in depth on the campus radio station. Did you let the trustees know your feelings whene they met several weeks ago? What are you going to give up to pay the cost increase?
