Arbitrary decisons
In a recent article the County Commissioners complained about arbitrary budget decisions by City Council. Here is an egregious example of the County doing just that.
Supposedly the 911 center is operated for the benefit of the County, City and Camden residents. When upgrades were made several years ago the City paid to have reverse 911 capability within the system. This capabilty was tested several times and found wanting, however, Council was assured that it would be fixed. In reality it wasn't and someone made a decision to drop this important feature.
Was City Council informed? NO. Was our appropriation to the 911 fund reduced? Not that I noticed.
At a recent joint City/County meeting Commissioner Matt Wood asked what wasn't working when the need for a formal Interlocal agreement with the County for 911 and animal control operations was discussed. Well Matt here is your answer.
