Albemarle School students celebrate 100th day

Albemarle School celebrated its 100th day of school on Tuesday, Jan. 24, involving their students in a variety of activities.

Chowan University 
releases President’s List

Chowan University official announced the President’s List honorees for Fall 2011. President’s List winners are full-time students who have accomplished a grade point average of 3.8 or better for the semester. The local honorees are: Melinda Nguyen of Creswell, freshman in Business Administration; Brittanie Smith of Barco, senior in Graphic Communications; Jake Thornton of Elizabeth City, senior in History; and Sharell Williams of Elizabeth City, senior in Psychology.

UNC Dean’s List

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill recognized 6,589 students for outstanding academic achievement through their selection for the Dean’s List for fall 2011. Local students are listed under their counties of residence.

Camden County:

Nixon, Davis make Dean’s List

Barton College named 248 students to the Dean’s List for fall semester 2011. Dean’s List students achieved a grade point average of 3.3 or better on a four-point scale. The locals are listed with their city of residence: Candice Leigh Nixon of Hertford and Caitlin Elise Davis of Moyock.

Bigelow, Mann graduate WCU

Western Carolina University has announced its graduation list for fall semester 2011. Local graduates ARE Brandi Nicole Bigelow of Moyock who achieved a Bachelor of Science in Recreational Therapy, Cum Laude, and Christine Marie Mann of Hertford who achieved a Master of School 
Administration.

Rogers graduates Excelsior

Michelle D. Rogers, a resident of Moyock, has earned a Bachelor of Science from Excelsior College.

Western Carolina’s Dean’s List

Western Carolina University has announced its dean’s list for fall semester 2011.

Chaffin named to Dean’s List

Matthew Chaffin, a resident of Shiloh, was among over 1800 students from Wake Forest University who made the Fall Dean’s List.

Denunzio makes President’s List

Allison Theresa Denunzio of Elizabeth City has been named to the President’s List at Clemson University for the fall 2011 semester.
