School Life: ECPPS recognizes volunteers, businesses

EC-Pasquotank Public Schools

The ECPPS district recently honored school-level volunteers, district-wide volunteers and businesses who have made a difference in the 2012-13 school year.

The district the District Volunteer of the Year: Amy Bundy (Central Elementary), the District Business Partner of the Year, Montero’s Restaurant, and awarded a special award for meritorious service to the Elizabeth City Fire Department for their support of the district and the PCHS Firefighter Academy in particular.

District-wide Volunteers of the Year are: Amy Bundy (Central Elementary), Karen Midgett (JC Sawyer Elementary), Melvin Bright (Northside), Susan Jones (Pasquotank Elementary), Keyonna Humphrey (PW Moore), Dawn Trevino (Sheep-Harney), Bill McNamee (Weeksville), Melissa Arnold (ECMS), Wilma Harris (RRMS), Amy Swain, (H.L. Trigg), Bridgett Barr (NHS), and Kenny Krentz (PCHS).

Business Partners of the Year are:

Montero’s (Central Elementary), Riverside United Methodist Church (JC Sawyer), Sonic Drive-In (Northside), USCG Air Station (Pasquotank Elementary), Dollar General, Weeksville Rd. (PW Moore), Albemarle Hospital (Sheep-Harney), Salem Baptist Church (Weeksville), Forest Park Church (ECMS), Towne South Church of Christ (RRMS), “What Am I Worth?” (H.L. Trigg), Biggs Cadillac Buick GMC (NHS), and Elizabeth City Fire Department (PCHS).

District employees honored at breakfast

The EC-Pasquotank Public Schools Educational Office Professionals hosted an annual Boss’s Breakfast on April 25.

The EOP members honored administrators with a breakfast that included music by Wayne James and the NHS Jazz Ensemble, guest performers from River Road Middle, and a motivational talk by guest speaker Abel Sutton.
