Moyock Middle School Principal Virginia Arrington and Assistant Principal Phil Walls present a laptop to student Mylie Moniz for winning this year’s Fire Behavior Essay contest, which is sponsored by the Moyock Fire Department. Mylie is joined by her parents. Representatives from the fire department were unavailable at the time this photo was taken.

Moyock Middle student Mylie Moniz was shocked Friday when Principal Virginia Arrington and Assistant Principal Phil Walls announced the winner of the fire department’s annual essay contest.

The Lady Bruins volleyball team (left photo) hosted Volley for a Cure during its match against First Flight High School. The event raised awareness and funds for breast cancer. In addition, the school’s Do Something Club (far left) sponsored a bake sale to raise money for breast cancer research. All proceeds were donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
