Sen. Barack Obama's presidential campaign will reopen its regional office in Elizabeth City.

The office, located at 427 S. Hughes Boulevard, initially opened in late March.

Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama will reopen his regional campaign headquarters in this house at 427 S. Hughes Boulevard, Elizabeth City, on Wednesday, a local supporter said this week.

It served as a regional headquarters for 16 counties in eastern North Carolina

before closing after the state's May 6 Democratic primary.

Jahi Issa, grassroots Obama coordinator, said the office will reopen today and remain open through the Nov. 4 general election. He said the office will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Issa said the campaign has yet to schedule any events at the office.

He said volunteers will again be sought to work the phones and assist with voter registration.
