| Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama will reopen his regional campaign headquarters in this house at 427 S. Hughes Boulevard, Elizabeth City, on Wednesday, a local supporter said this week. |
It served as a regional headquarters for 16 counties in eastern North Carolina
before closing after the state's May 6 Democratic primary.
Jahi Issa, grassroots Obama coordinator, said the office will reopen today and remain open through the Nov. 4 general election. He said the office will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Issa said the campaign has yet to schedule any events at the office.
He said volunteers will again be sought to work the phones and assist with voter registration.
