CAMDEN — The Bruins' second batter of the game came around the bases on a single and a three-base error to score. That was all Camden needed.
But the Bruins added on 10 more runs for good measure.

Camden scored four in the first and third innings and another pair in the second, then rode the arm of Matt Nelson for an 11-0 first-round 1A state baseball playoff win against Columbia on Thursday.
The two teams moved up the game to Thursday because of weather concerns. Even so, it looked as if the weather might force a postponement early.
"I'm glad the weatherman was wrong, first of all," Camden coach Mickey Drew said.
It did not take the Bruins (14-7) long to show they were the No. 1 seed in this matchup. They used four hits and a pair of Columbia errors to dent the plate four times in the first. For the game, Camden had 10 hits, including three from Weston Dodson, who scored the opening run, and two from Zach Leslie.
"We swung it fairly well," Drew said. "We don't do some of the things situation-wise that we try to work on, but overall, I was pleased with the hitting."
Both teams had two errors in the game, but Camden did not pay for theirs thanks to Matt Nelson, who allowed just two hits and three walks over five innings while striking out four.
"Defensively, we're a little off, but the pitching bailed us out a lot," Drew said. "Matt Nelson, a freshman, did a great job on the mound tonight. He got us out of some situations we put ourselves in by not making plays."
Now the Bruins will wait to see if they will play host to Lakeview or Louisburg in the second round on Tuesday.
"I'm hoping they will have to play Saturday or Monday, so their pitching's a little thin," Drew said. "Every team from here on out is going to be a good team, so whoever we play is going to have some good pitching."

Cardinal Gibbons 6, Edenton 0
Without Danny Brusko, the Aces won just two games as they fell in the first round of the 2A state dual team tournament on Tuesday in Raleigh.
"Cardinal Gibbons is the best team in the state and richly deserves their number one ranking," Edenton coach Allen Hornthal said. "Oddly, we probably played some of the best tennis we have played this year, but they are several levels better than us."
Edenton ends the season at 14-8.
