Little Red Riding Hood meets "Rashomon" in the animated feature "Hoodwinked," a fitfully successful revision of the classic fairy tale. When the forest police are called to Granny's House, they find Red (voiced by Anne Hathaway), the Wolf (Patrick Warburton) in Granny clothing, Granny (Glenn Close) tied up in the closet and a lumbering Woodsman (James Belushi) who appears to be the hero of the moment. But once Detective Bill Stork (Anthony Anderson) and Chief Grizzly (Xzibit), joined by Nicky Flippers (David Ogden Stiers), a dapper frog with a William Powell "Thin Man" moustache, start asking questions, nothing is very clear. In this re-telling of "Little Red Riding Hood," the story begins at the end. Chief Grizzly and Detective Bill Stork investigate a domestic disturbance at Granny's cottage, involving a karate-kicking Red Riding Hood, a sarcastic wolf and an oafish Woodsman. The charges are many: breaking and entering, intent to eat, wielding an axe without a license, but these unusual suspects have their story to tell first.
