Welcome to Escenic, the new web content management system launched today by DailyAdvance.com.
On-line users will note many improvements, including better display and organization of the content users normally find on the site.
The new system was launched at 4 p.m. today following two days of training and technical preparations. The launch was completed with our staff working in conjunction with engineers and developers from COXnet, a part of Cox Newspapers Inc., which owns The Daily Advance. COXnet is located in Atlanta.
Stories, photos, advertisements and other content now housed within the Escenic system allow staff at The Daily Advance more flexibility to produce and update the site. The changes mean some regular site visitors may need to update bookmarks and RSS feeds. New features that visitors may notice immediately include:
• Our home page, what most readers see when they first come to the site, will continue to list the latest top stories, but will evolve as an index page that highlights what's in other areas of the site.
• Our slide shows have a new look and buttons that allow visitors to view images manually or play them automatically.
• Stories have a cleaner display. Readers will be able to increase their text size and the pages will include more links to related content.
Using the new Escenic tools, we look forward to serving our on-line audience and customers even better. If you have any concerns or comments, please e-mail Chris Day, Universal Desk editor, at cday@coxnc.com, or leave a comment below.

just curious! It appears you're doing quite a bit of censuring comments also. you say you only hit the 'submit' button once, but the comment never shows up if you do. What's up with that?
