Want to recognize your favorite business, professional or service in the Elizabeth City area for their outstanding work?
Well starting today, here’s your chance to do so.
The Daily Advance is currently accepting nominations for its annual Reader’s Choice Awards, the awards voted on by readers and subscribers of the region’s only daily newspaper and website. Honorees receive a certificate they can frame and proudly display.
The Daily Advance has been handing out Reader’s Choice Awards for decades, but this year marks a change in how winners are selected.
Instead of filling out nominations on paper, readers are being asked to make their selections online. The selection process is easy. Just visit our website, www.dailyadvance.com, and click on the Reader’s Choice Awards icon that says “Click here to vote!” That takes you to a page containing an extensive list of categories, including best automobile dealership, best barbershop, best grocery store, best law practice, best marina, best pharmacy, best plumbing service, best real estate agency, and best boutique for women.
At the top of the survey are rules for making your selections. The rules are:
• For each type of business/service, type the complete name of the person or business you are voting for. Incomplete entries will not be counted. For example, type “Ted’s Seafood Restaurant,” not “Ted’s.”
• If the business has multiple locations, you must write the location that you are voting for. Example: Subplace, Hertford.
• If you do not want to vote in a category, you must put N/A (not applicable) in the entry space.
• All questions must be answered (or include N/As) for the survey to be complete.
The deadline to submit nominees for the Reader’s Choice Awards is Nov. 15 at 5 p.m. The recipients will be notified and receive their awards Nov. 22.
The Reader’s Choice section, which features a list of the winners, will be published in the Dec. 27 edition of The Daily Advance.
