When last in office

Faison was a big landfill supporter. Well that is after he campaigned in South Mills telling people he was against it. Funny how politicians say one thing and do another once in office. Oh well that is what we have.

BOTTOM LINE

What it boils down to is this. What is worse, a commissioner who is being a hard working individual for our nation (a taxpayer), conducting business through teleconferencing (this is done daily through many businesses), or a commissioner who is lying to law enforcement and jeopardizing the lives of other drivers and pedestrians on the road? What is going on in his personal life to make him make a choice to drive drunk? Do you want to meet him on the road? This is serious stuff folks-put politics aside. As for who started negative politics, it was Faison trying to make Riggs look bad. Where does the Faison camp get it that Riggs started this? Why didn’t Faison run on his own record? Low class!!! To the people, why it comes up now, because this is when the voters are deciding who they will vote for and this is pertinent information. Stop playing dumb.

meeting attendance has been a problem

Riggs had a problem showing up for meetings the first time he was in office. The second term has just been more excuses. Hard to pass judgement on Faison for making a bad decision to drink and drive to soon afterward, just a case of poor judgement. Should not effect his ability to serve the people of Camden any differently than the first time he served.

TABLOID NEWSPAPER STORIES

I think negative stories and breaking headlines just before an election USED to sometimes have the ability to sway the outcome of an election but I don't believe that so much any more. So many, many people are tired of dirty politics so it will be interesting to see if this is going to backfire on Mr. Faisons opponent. I think Mr Faison is going to win on Tuesday and if he does what a statement it will make not only FOR Mr. Faison but also a statement about his opponent. In my oppinion the story was a plant and if so, ouch that could be a tough pill to swallow come Tuesday. My comments in no way endorse drinking and driving but backdoor politics should have stayed out of this race.

Isn't it funny

Isn't it funny how this now comes up? Its funny that when the daughter of one of the higher ups in the paper gets a DUI, it's not in the paper. He did not lie to the police when asked if he had been drinking nor did he reject a breathalyzer or field sobriety test. Isn't it funny that Mr. Riggs is so intimidated by Mr. Faison from the loss of the election to him in 2006 when Mr. Faison won against him that he has to dig up dirt so people will not vote for him. Although Mr. Riggs' work contract is up in June, there is still an option for it to be renewed. If it is renewed, what makes you think he will be in attendance at the meetings? If teleconferencing has worked thus far, nothing will change. Everyone makes mistakes and everyone has done something they regret in their past. I do NOT support drinking and driving but from his time from 2006-2010 I liked his decisions that helped our County. How is someone who is away full time really able to know what is happening in the county? If this affects someone's vote then must have never broken the law, never made a mistake, and have no regrets. I would certainly love to meet these persons!

I do not in anyway approve of

I do not in anyway approve of people drinking and driving. However, I do believe in innocence until proving guilty. It is pretty odd that this story just appears in the paper right before the election when it happened over 9 months ago. I personally think that Mr.Faisons previous job performance as a commissioner speaks for itself. He has great concerns about the county , it's use of our tax money in the most useful ways and the overall development of the county. This will in no way affect my vote for him and I hope others will look at his political record and let it speak for itself. I'm sure if we did some "closet digging" others running and currently holding county offices would have a lot of "bones" to dig up. Many of you that are going to pass judgement for this need to look at yourselves as well. Most of you just haven't been caught or have had it reduced to lesser charges. And yes, this happens everyday so don't act surprised!

Colington Road

All I can think of is the horrible wreck that killed 4 girls by a drunk driver at an intersection on Colington Road. People, please drink at home and not on the public roadways.

Glad I saw

This article. I was going to vote for him but not now. I have a problem with drunk driving then lying to the police about it. I will now be changing my vote for this Riggs guy especially with his out of town work coming to an end. Having been in the military and being away alot I can see where work could send you out of town but I can't understand drunk driving.
