Camden ends benefit reward for new workers

CAMDEN — New Camden County employees will no longer receive the health care benefits offered to current retirees as a reward for long years of service.

I wish it could be different

but reality demands that it cannot. All of us, are going to have to plan and save more for retirement or work longer. I am sure McLain and Duckwall don't take comfort in having to do this but I appreciate them making the hard decision.

Oh, and thank you Obamacare for raising premiums on health insurance. Everyone knows that program, the one that is going to save untold billions in healthcare costs. Right!

Benefits should be cut!

This program is better than any program I have ever heard of. Free insurance? I worked for the Feds for 40 years and I still have to pay for my insurance. Guess I should have for for a local county. City ot even the state to have gotten a better deal!
