How would you describe your job? In a typical day, we sort and bag groceries for needy families as they come into the food pantry and issue it to them. We have 15 counties we provide to. Organizations call in their order, and we prepare a
delivery for them and deliver to them about once a month for

each place. We distribute food based on family size.
Has your job been affected by changes in technology or other changes? Rather than keeping statistics and inventory on paper, now we keep it on computers in charts, graphs, etc.
Besides salary, what benefits do you derive from your work? They are the best people in the world to work for. I stay there because I truly enjoy the people I work with.
What are the long-term or indirect benefits of your job? The long-term effects, I wouldn't say there's any financial benefit, as a part-time worker. You feel good about what you're doing, by helping people who are hungry.
How do you see your job benefiting the larger community? To me, it's just a satisfaction of doing something. At least you know someone isn't going hungry, is being fed. If anyone walks in after hours, they're going to walk out of there with food. If they come in on a Friday evening after we close, we'll give them enough food until Monday, when they can come back in and fill in the paperwork. We're striving to get 100 percent of the people in each county that we serve.
