How would you describe your job? I help people get vehicles that they want. Showing different vehicles,
having a wide variety of vehicles to help them make the best choice.
Derrek Schneider, age 32 Elizabeth City Sales & Leasing Consultant Courtesy Hyundai, 10 months |
Has your job been affected by changes in technology or other changes? The Internet has certainly affected our jobs. Hyundai buyers do a lot of research before they come in. A lot of people don't know the Hyundai products, so they really do some research. It makes it easier to sell a car to someone when they already know what they want.
Besides salary, what benefits do you derive from your work? I get to meet a lot of different people, people in interesting professions. I get to make good friends with employees as well as customers.
What are the long-term or indirect benefits of your job? Stability. Everybody always needs a car, so you're always in a business that's stable. The opportunity to move up in the company.
How do you see your job benefiting the larger community? Helping people get vehicles is important, because everyone needs transportation. I help people get credit, which helps them with other things in their life like
buying a house.
