Getting thrifty for spring...
Usually when I shop at thrift stores, I'm trying to match new clothes with my existing wardrobe, but for this assignment I was supposed to get as many outfits as possible for $30. I found five outfits for $27.08, including tax.

I wasn't sure when I first looked at these two pieces that they went together, and I was not sold on the skirt. I thought it was too pastel for me, but decided to try something different. After wearing the outfit, I realized I had a winner. |
I really liked the top, which acts more like a sweater, and it was again blue. I already have two other white skirts from thrift stores but when it comes to white skirts I can't have too many. |
The denim skirt was my first purchase on this assignment that involved no prior fitting. I already have a denim skirt, but it's getting worn (and also came from a thrift store), and this was new and had a recognizable brand. I rarely buy tank tops at all, so I was very lucky that this one fit without getting to try it on. |
This cotton skirt was really comfortable, and while I made it a rule years ago that horizontal stripes do not work with me, I couldn't resist this cute little shirt, especially as it was Ralph Lauren. Besides, it was less than $2. |
