ECSU spring registration. Elizabeth City State University will hold registration for the spring semester at the K.E. White Center, Friday through Monday, Jan. 8. Freshmen and transfer students will register Friday from 9:30 a.m. to noon; weekend/evening program and graduate students will register Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon; and upperclassmen will register Jan. 8 from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Classes begin Tuesday, Jan. 9. TODAY:

Libraries closed for holidays. The Pasquotank-Camden Library and the Currituck library branches in Barco and Corolla will be closed until Tuesday.

COMING UP:

Pasquotank board to meet. The Pasquotank County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing on rezoning requests in Courtroom C of the courthouse Tuesday at 7 p.m.

Camden board to meet. The Camden County Board of Commissioners will meet in the courtroom of the courthouse Tuesday at 8 a.m.

Hearing on changing meeting times. The Currituck County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing to discuss changing the Board of Commissioners meeting time in the meeting room of the Historic Courthouse Tuesday at 7 p.m.

River City Sam's Club. The River City Sam's Club will meet at Golden Corral in Elizabeth City, Tuesday at 1 p.m. For more information about this camping group, call 338-5957 or 453-8290.

Airport authority to meet. The Elizabeth City-Pasquotank County Airport Authority will meet in Courtroom C of the county courthouse Wednesday at 7 p.m. A regular session will precede a closed session.

Al-Pam Club to meet. The Al-Pam Republican Club will meet at BJ's Barbecue & Family Restaurant in Jarvisburg Thursday, Jan. 4 at 6:30 p.m. Becki Gray, chief policy analyst for the John William Pope Civitas Institute, will be the speaker. For info, call 793-9547 or 491-3398.

NAACP Jubilee Day breakfast. The Pasquotank County branch of the NAACP will hold a Jubilee Day breakfast in the fellowship hall at Olive Branch Missionary Baptist Church Saturday at 9 a.m. Elizabeth City State University Interim Chancellor Willie Gilchrist will be the guest speaker, and newly elected branch officers will be installed. Tickets can be purchased from branch members of by calling 338-2243. Donations are $5.

Sugar Babies to meet. The support group for children and adolescents with diabetes and their families will meet at 6 p.m. Monday, Jan. 8 in Education Room 2 at Albemarle Hospital. Marie Ward will give a program on counting carbohydrates and measuring portion sizes. To register, call 338-4370 by Jan. 4.

Camden zoning board to meet. The Camden County Board of Adjustments will hold a public hearing on a request for a variance to the county's zoning rules in the upstairs courtroom of the courthouse Monday, Jan. 8 at 7 p.m. April White is requesting to locate a dwelling on property on Ivy Neck Road.

Neighborhood watch group to meet. The Historic District Neighborhood Watch group will meet at 7 p.m. Jan. 4 at the Elizabeth City Bed & Breakfast. For info, e-mail uccw4u2@hotmail.com.

Quilt Lovers Guild to meet. The Colonial Quilt Lovers Guild will meet at the Camden Senior Center Saturday, Jan. 6 at 10 a.m.
