Registration begins at ECSU. Elizabeth City State University will hold registration for the spring semester at the K.E. White Center through Tuesday. Classes begin Tuesday. Freshmen and transfer students will register today from 9:30 a.m. to noon. Weekend/evening program and graduate students will register today from 9 a.m. to noon. Currituck board to hold redistricting meeting. The Currituck Board of Education will hold a public meeting on the proposed 2008-09 elementary school attendance maps in the auditorium at Currituck County Middle School Monday at 7 p.m. Maps and descriptions of the options are available at all elementary and middle schools and are posted online at www.currituck.k12.nc.us.

Filing period for election begins. The filing period for the Feb. 19 3rd Ward city election to fill the seat formerly held by Councilman Darryl Stallings Sr. will start Monday, Jan. 7, and continue weekdays until Tuesday, Jan. 15.
