Child care conference. The "Shooting for the Stars" Child Care Conference will be Saturday at the N.C. Cooperative Extension Center in Barco. The featured speaker will be Kim Johnson, a motivational speaker and author. Arbor Day Tree giveaway. The Currituck County Master Gardeners will be giving away trees during its annual Arbor Day Tree Giveaway Saturday. Varieties include river birch, crepe myrtle and live oak. "Flowering" Bonsai class. The Currituck Cooperative Extension is sponsoring "Flowering" Bonsai class from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 29 at the new Extension facility in Barco. TAG flea market. The Currituck Library's Teen Advisory Group will host a booth at this year's Relay for Life from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 5 in the parking lot at Currituck High School. The group will be selling crafts and used items to raise money to support the teen area of the library.

Currituck Flower and Garden show. This years theme for the Home Flower and Garden Show is "Going Native." The two-day event, the only garden show in northeast North Carolina, is sponsored by the Currituck Master Gardeners and the NC Cooperative Extension Service, Currituck County Center. It will be held Friday and Saturday, April 11 and 12, at the new Cooperative Extension facility located at 120 Community Way, Barco.
