New Hope Democrats to meet. The Perquimans County Democratic Party will hold the New Hope Precinct meeting at the Durants Neck Ruritan Club on New Hope Road in Hertford today at 8 a.m.

'Shooting for the Stars' child care conference. The Currituck center of the N.C. Cooperative Extension Service will host the "Shooting for the Stars" child care conference today. New immunization requirements. Schools in North Carolina will require all incoming kindergartners, 6th-grade students an first-time college students to receive a Tdap vaccination before the 2008-09 school year. This vaccine is necessary to protect adults and children against tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis. . Kindergarten registration.
