Links to host White Rose luncheon. The Elizabeth City Chapter of The Links, Inc., will hold its inaugural White Rose luncheon at the K.E. White Center Saturday at noon. COA summer, early fall registration. Registration for College of The Albemarle's summer and early fall semesters will be held Monday, April 7, through Friday, April 18. Excel Intermediate computer training. Askew scholarship applications. The Arts of the Albemarle is now accepting applications for the $500 Roy Askew Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship is offered to high school seniors in Pasquotank, Gates and Camden counties planning to pursue a degree in an art-related field. Juvenile Crime Prevention funds. The Perquimans County Juvenile Crime Prevention Council has $11,090 available for a Teen Court diversion program. Program agreements are due to Johnson at 603 Dobbs St., Hertford by 5 p.m. on Friday, April 18.

Butterfield to speak at 'Building Bridges' conference. U.S. Rep. G.K. OLF 'scoping' meeting in Camden. The U.S. Navy will host a "scoping" meeting on its proposal to study a site in Camden County for a proposed outlying landing field, at Camden County High School Monday, May 5 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

New immunization requirements. Schools in North Carolina will require all incoming kindergartners, 6th-grade students an first-time college students to receive a Tdap vaccination before the 2008-09 school year. This vaccine is necessary to protect adults and children against tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis.
