Annual Spring Golf Classic. The Currituck Chamber of Commerce will host its annual Spring Golf Classic today at The Carolina Club, Grandy. There will be a 12:30 p.m. shotgun start with registration beginning at 10 a.m. Team spaces are still available for $300 per four-person team and includes cart and green fees, range balls, a loaded goodie bag and an awards reception following the tournament. New DAV Chapter forming. A new Chapter of the Disabled American Veterans is currently being formed in Currituck County and is looking for qualified men and women to fill the ranks. For more details and qualifications, call Christopher Curdes at 435-1165.

Spring Into Music Festival. The Currituck County Band Boosters is seeking craft makers for its Spring Into Music Festival, set for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. For more info, call Dana at 232-0431.

Tropical Bonsai class. The Cooperative Extension will host a "Tropical" Bonsai class from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Cooperative Extension office at 120 Community Way, Barco. Cost is $60 per person, which includes lunch and all materials. Enrollment is limited to 15 students. To pre-register, call the Cooperative Extension at 232-2262.

Currituck County AARP meeting. The Currituck Chapter of the AARP will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at the Currituck Public Library in Barco. Guest speaker to be announced. For information, call 232-2520.

Currituck to host Commerce luncheon. A discussion Tuesday from noon to 2 p.m. at the Bank of Currituck in Grandy will bring Currituck based business owners and entrepreneurs together with local, regional and state officials to discuss small businesses and the financial market. Annette Ragan, of the N.C. Department of Commerce Business ServiCenter, will speak. For information and to RSVP, call 232-6015.

OLF 'scoping' meetings. The U.S. Navy will host "scoping" meeting on its proposal to study a site in Camden County for a proposed outlying landing field, at the Cooperative Extension Service building in Barco Saturday, April 28, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.; and at Camden County High School Monday, May 5 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Navy schedules OLF scoping meeting. The U.S. Navy will conduct a scoping meeting from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, April 28 at the Cooperative Extension Center to hear public comment on a proposed Navy outlying landing field in Camden County. National Day of Prayer. This year's National Day of Prayer theme is "Prayer! America's Strength & Shields" and will be from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, May 1 in courtroom C of the Currituck County Courthouse.
