A Pasquotank County High School teacher facing allegations of an improper relationship with a student is no longer at the school, Superintendent Tony Stewart said Tuesday.
Stewart declined to name the teacher. He also declined to say whether or not the teacher had been suspended.
Pasquotank Sheriff Randy Cartwright said last week that his department was investigating allegations of a teacher at the school engaging in an improper relationship with a student. A computer was seized as part of the investigation, he said.
Stewart said the school system is conducting an investigation of its own. He said the teacher will not be at the school until the investigation is complete.
