Currituck 4-H summer day camps. The Currituck County 4-H is now registering youth for summer day camps for children ages 9-13 and 5-8. Registration forms are available online at currituck.ces.ncsu.edu/index.php?page=youth4h, or by calling the 4-H office at 232-2262.
Summer reading program at Currituck Library. "Catch the Reading Bug" is the theme for this summer's reading program, which kicks off at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Rob Westcott, magician, will present the world of magic. Reading logs will be given out that day; summer reading will continue at 11 a.m. each Wednesday and story time starts at 10 a.m. each Tuesday.
Grape producers workshop/tour. A workshop and tour for grape producers will start at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the Currituck Extension Center at 120 Community Way, Barco. Extension specialists will discuss disease control and best management practices for grape production. Tours include stops at Sanctuary Vineyards, Martin's Vineyards and Moonrise Bay Vineyards. Currituck County AARP. Sheriff Susan Johnson will speak at an AARP meeting starting at 7 p.m. Monday, June 30 at the Currituck Public Library, Barco.
Outreach Reading program. Read five books and bring reading log to the Currituck Library to be signed off and your name entered in a drawing to be held Tuesday, July 15, for a chance to win a gift certificate to Barnes & Noble.
Fire and EMS board meeting. The Currituck Fire and EMS Advisory Board will meet at 7 p.m. the third Thursday of each month in Courtroom C of the Judicial Building located near county's governmental complex at 2801 Caratoke Highway.

Currituck County Head Start applications. Currituck County Head Start program is currently accepting applications for children age 4. Call 453-4992.
J.P. Knapp High School Web site. www.knapp50.com, a new Web site for graduates of J.P. Knapp High School, has been created to help students in the classes of 1960 to 1976 locate each other. The Web site also will be used to relay information to alumni about a 50-year anniversary celebration/reunion of the founding of the school, which is planned for 2010.
There is time for interested graduates to take part in the event planning. Knapp students are encouraged to visit the site often.
