Elizabeth City police are searching for a man they say robbed a cab driver at gunpoint Saturday in the Hickory Village Mobile Home Park.
William White Jr., 51, a driver with Moore’s Taxi, was called to the mobile home park off River Road about 7:30 p.m. Saturday, according to Elizabeth City police Det. B.J. Morgan.
When White arrive, he was approached by a man wearing a red, black and white bandana over his face, Morgan said.
The robber pointed a handgun at White’s face and told him to hand over his money. Morgan said that White handed over a “small amount” of money. The robber then fled on foot.
The suspect is described as a black male, between 16 and 18 years old, about 5 feet, 6 inches tall, and weighing about 155 pounds.
