Election success fuels GOP candidacies

CURRITUCK — For the past two elections in Currituck County, Republicans have dominated local races, winning every elective office except one.

When voters vote for a

When voters vote for a candidate because of his/her political party; everyone looses. People that are elected to any political office, just because they are associated with the political party that garners the majority votes in the election, may not be qualified for the job; then the entire community suffers. "Not having straight-party voting is going to make a big difference". Yes I'm sure it will. But all voters have always been able to vote as Independent voters for as long as I've been voting. The largest bloc of voters in the county are either voting for the candidate or just maybe they are voting against the political party; in either case, the community is better off.

It appears Currituck Democrats are like national Democrats; Hope people dont think they are Democrats when they vote.......
