Guilty before the Trial
I do not understand what is going on, not completely. Granted they are more than likely guilty as sin, but they have not been convicted "yet" but they have had there lic pulled anyway. If it were a traffic violation, the driver can still drive until court date. Medicare has determined their guilt before the trial. What is going to happen if it never goes to trial or if they are found not guilty or guilty of a less offense. So, the patients under care, and Pasquotank-Camden EMS have to jump through hoops, incur extra tax payer expenses, possibly reduce emergency response or treatment. Why, because Harrels has been found guilty before their trial.
I doubt...
that they would have taken this step without enough evidence and possibly even cooperation from the owner of Harrel transport. I do wish that the paper would hold off publicizing things until the facts are known but, on the other hand, you have alot of people who rely on this transport company and need to know that this change is occuring.
It's a bad situation all the way around.
