ASHEVILLE — North Carolina corrections officers and McDowell County sheriff’s deputies have captured an inmate who escaped from the Buncombe County Correctional Center.
Officials said 27-year-old Anthony Riddle of McDowell County was arrested late Wednesday morning at an apartment in Marion.
They said Riddle walked away from the minimum-security prison in Asheville on Tuesday night.
Riddle was serving a sentence of two to four years for larceny and possession of a gun by a felon. He had been scheduled for release in July 2015.
Officials say new charges are expected.
