A local man who fled the Pasquotank County Courthouse Monday after a judge ordered him to jail has turned himself in.

I'm confused,

at first he wasn't considered a real threat. Now, his bail is set higher than people charged with 1st degree murder. Which one is it?

I agree.

Per the sheriff "Why would we alert you? It wasn’t like it was somebody in custody escaped.” But the man was being taken into custody when he escaped! Hilarious and typical response from our embarrassed officials!
