The mayors of Elizabeth City, Hertford and Winfall joined 50 other North Carolina mayors Wednesday in signing a letter supporting Gov. Beverly Perdue’s proposal to temporarily restore a three-quarters of a cent sales tax to be used for education.

Manage the Personnel
Elizabeth City - Pasquotank Public Schools have a few really great teachers who deserve some sort of merit pay or bonuses. The remainder need to be more actively managed and held accountable. The overall summary is no amount of additional money will help ECPPS until we have stronger leadership capable of making bold decisions and managing personnel more effectively.
Taxs for education??
Where is all the money at that the Education Lottery brings in??? Is it going out the back door for other state projects. It was my thought that this was going to end all the woes with education???
Sort like Social Security that the Federal Goverment has spend, taking out the back door.

This is just another tax to make government bigger. We cannot afford what we have now. Students will learn if they want to learn, and teachers will teach if they want to teach. This is a bad Democrat idea.
Bureaucracy Building Tax?
This is fine if not one red cent stays in Raleigh or in the central offices in the counties. If enacted every penny should be direct services to the students. No more bureaucrats, okay?
