Medicaid cuts worry advocates for elderly

The state Senate’s proposed cuts to Medicaid would reduce or eliminate health care benefits for thousands of low-income seniors and disabled persons in North Carolina, including an as-yet undetermined number in the Albemarle area, social service directors and assisted living administrators say.

No easy answer.

We have built such an economy that pain is on our doorsteps. We should never have been so frivolous in spending taxpayers money on anything but essentials. The elderly would fit in the essentials category for me.
