Currituck is growing

I think it is a great idea. That place needs a facelift. I don't drink so I don't patronize that store. However, it's time for some updating. They would have had a nice building about a year or 2 ago when the ABC store wanted to move into the building next door to them. But the county rejected their proposal. As far as "entice even MORE people to buy and drink alcohol" and they "can start sipping early"...There are ABC stores in Chesapeake, there are ABC stores in Currituck and I'm sure there is an ABC store on the OBX. A drunk driver is a drunk driver, regardless if they buy their alcohol at a bar, Foodlion or the ABC store. Unfortunately, they exist...everywhere.

Real Einsteins

Boy, this takes the cake! Let's entice even MORE people to buy and drink alcohol. Let's get them buy it 30+ miles from the beach so they can start sipping early and be well on their way to a drunken stupor by the time they get there. I guess the potential added income to Currituck County far outweighs keeping sober and responsible drivers and citizens safer using the same roadways. Death by drunk driver is apparently more politically and socially acceptable than once thought.

Way to go Commissioners! Please be ready to explain your "investment" and "increased" profits to all the drunk driving victims and their families!
