Borrowing Money

Why are we borrowing money for necessary projects - i.e. school repairs? Borrow money to fund the recreation budget and see how popular that is with the taxpayers. We put important items out on borrowed money so there wont be much objection. The Weeksville fire truck has been coming up for several years and I think it should be funded ahead of some other items in the budget. Human life and property are important budgetary items. Have we even looked several years ahead to see how this will be repaid in addition to the loans we already have?

The Easter Bunny and Santa Claus agree

The Easter Bunny and Santa Claus agree that it sounds like a very real balanced budget.

is "Paqquotank nears a balanced budget" when it is borrowing 1.67 million dollars to meet school projects? Bunch said he "hopes" for enough revenue to meet the budget shortfall. Hope should not be part of the equation. It is time for commissioners to fund only what is necessary and not nice to have until our debt is under control. We have seen what has happened under their leadership so far, Albermarle Mental Health-bankrupt and gone; Albemarle Hospital-millions in debt practically given away to Sentera.
