Sheriff: Missing woman was slain

A body found in a Pasquotank County farm field two weeks ago is that of a woman who was reported missing two years ago, the sheriff said Tuesday.
Sheriff Randy Cartwright said the body, found south of Elizabeth City on Nov. 7, is that of Mary Carter, who was reported missing in 2006.
Cartwright said authorities are investigating the discovery of Carter’s body as a homicide, but he did not release any further details.
He said “recent information” had led authorities to Carter’s body but he did not elaborate.
Cartwright said he planned to release more details today about the discovery of Carter’s body as well as why officials believe she was murdered.

THATS WHO I THOUGHT IT WAS MAN I CANT BELIEVE THIS THIS IS SO MESSED UP.SHE WAS A VERY GOOD FRIEND OF MINE AND CURTIS SHOULD GET LIFE.WE USE TO BE LIKE TWINS IN SCHOOL.THIS IS JUST CRAZY.I HAVENT SEEN HER OR HEARD FROM HER IN LIKE 21/2 YEARS.MAN SHE WAS HAVING IT ROUGH WHEN I LAST SAW HER.WELL NOW SHE IS REST IN PEACE AND AS FOR HER MOM SHE IS A WOUNDERFUL PERSON.HER MOM WAS THERE FOR HER AND TOOK CARE OF HER KIDS.

She would be 30 in December. So she was 27 when she died.
