Shots fired reported again
For the second time in less than a week, the Elizabeth City Police Department is investigating a report of gunshots fired.
Shortly after 7 p.m. Thursday, officers responded to a report of approximately five shots fired in the area of Roanoke Avenue and Paxton Street, Capt. John Young said. Young said that many residents in the area heard the shots, but that no witnesses have come forward.
There were neither any reports of anyone being struck by the gunfire nor any property being damaged, Young said.
Shortly before 2 a.m. on Dec. 22, Officer Ryan Boyce, while on patrol, reported hearing approximately 10 shots in the area of Cale and Shepard streets. Young said that no shell casings were found, that no one was reported to have been struck and that no arrests have been made.
