District 1 Representative

BOB, Congratulations on you successful run for the 1st District. Although you filled some mighty big shoes, I am sure you will succeed where other have failed. I look forward to working with you on helping our coastwise merchant mariners gain recognition as veterans of WW II, as you did so faithfully while in the county. Good Luck and best wishes on a very successful career.

Inquiring minds need to know............

Was Bill Luton there to participate in this gala event? It seems that his presence and voice has been a little on the lean side since Nov. 6th! I figured he might want to get out, socialize a little, and rub elbows with some really qualified politicians.

This is history.

After Senator elect Bill Cook is sworn in on Jan.6, NENC for the first time in history will be represented by both a Republican Representative and Republican Senator, not to mention a Republican Governor soon to follow. As Vice Chair of the Agriculture Committee, Rep. Steinburg is off to a great start in representing a district with a vast agricultural commitment. God speed Rep. Bob and Marie. I know you'll do us proud.

Steinburg event

What a fantastic event!!! The historic courthouse rocked as individuals from all the parties gathered to see Mr. Steinburg become sworn in and to hear a message of hope from NC Supreme Court Associate Justice Paul Newby. And as everyone joined in during the singing of God Bless America at the end of the ceremony it made you feel that there are some things still right about our area and state.

I truly believe that Representative Steinburg has our best interests in mind and will be a man of the people. There is no doubt that his door will be open to all.
