Elizabeth City Police have charged a Hertford man in a vehicle collision Wednesday that also caused damage to a local house.
Robert Todd is charged with no operator’s license, expired registration and failure to yield the right of way, according to Elizabeth City police Lt. John Etheridge.
The accident occurred about 4 p.m. as Todd was attempting to turn left on North Hughes Boulevard from West Broad Street, Etheridge said. Todd drove his Ford F-150 truck into traffic in front of a Ford Ranger truck driven by Steven Sadler of South Mills. Sadler’s truck struck Todd’s vehicle on the passenger side. Todd’s truck then ran off the road and struck the brick column of a porch at 503 W. Broad St.
Etheridge said the home is owned by the Elizabeth City Cotton Mills and was unoccupied at the time.
No one was injured in the accident, and no estimate of damages to the vehicles or home was available.
