City manager Rich Olson said shortly after 7 a.m. Wednesday that there had been no reported power outages in the city because of snow and cold weather that moved in overnight.
Olson also said that city crews were salting and sanding the city's bridges. According to The Weather Channel, Elizabeth City received about 0.21 inch of precipitation and 2.8 inches of snow in the 24 hours prior to 7 a.m. According to the Elizabeth City Police Department, no serious traffic accidents had yet occurred as a result of the wintry conditions. Olson also said City Hall was on a two-hour delay.
