This is a step in the right direction.

Glad to see our city officials pursuing something that would go a long way to help the plight of downtown business by improving parking, but just as important, improving business access by enabling passage from McMorrine to Poindexter, particularly now when Elizabeth Street will be impassible during construction. Elizabeth City needs to help promote our downtown business as best they can, not make it more difficult.

1st in a long while

This is a 1st time in a long while that something sensible and logical has issued forth from city hall. It's really scary too. It makes me wonder if all the occupying leadership there have skipped taking medication briefly and their delusions of grandeur and and the aura of a fairy tale world has momentarily disappeared. As the late comedian, George Carlan, used to say, "Reality, What a concept!"

Actually it may of been Robin

Actually it may of been Robin Williams who said, "Reality, What a concept." At least he had a album with that title.
