MSNBC’s “The Rachel Maddow Show” will broadcast live from Elizabeth City at 9 p.m. tonight, according to a news release from the television broadcasting company.
The broadcast will be from the deck at Grouper's Restaurant, on Elizabeth City's waterfront.
Maddow will devote the full hour broadcast to exploring the North Carolina voting revisions signed into law last week. “The Rachel Maddow Show” has been covering the news of the voting law changes, including reporting on the controversial ruling by the Pasquotank County Elections Board to deny Elizabeth City State University student Montravias King the right to seek a seat on the city council.
The show will take a deeper look at how the new laws passed by the N.C. General Assembly will affect students, African-Americans, and low-income voter participation in the state.
