The following message regarding high winds and ferry operations was posted this morning at the NC DOT Ferry System's Facebook page. Good morning, everyone. We've got some extremely high winds today on the coast. At this time, we have suspended operations at Currituck-Knotts Island and Bayview-Aurora, and the 7am Ocracoke to Swan Quarter is currently on hold until conditions improve. As always, we'll keep you up to date here as things change. We are now also holding on the 7am Cedar Island to Ocracoke and the 7:30am Ocracoke to Cedar Island. Sustained winds on Pamlico Sound are above 25mph, with gusts up to 36mph. We have now also suspended operations on the Hatteras-Ocracoke route, also due to high winds.
