Closings, cancellations listed

All area schools are closed Wednesday due to the expected snow overnight and dangerous road conditions. The National Weather Service forecast 1 to 3 inches.

Elizabeth City-Pasquotank Public Schools will be closed Wednesday. All employees should stay home. The make-up day for students will be Friday. Friday was originally scheduled as a Teacher Workday but will now be a regular school day for students and staff.

Saturday will be an optional Teacher Workday.

Girls Inc. follows the ECPPS Inclement Weather Schedule so Girls Inc. will also be closed.

Currituck County Schools will hold a make-up day Feb. 24.

The First Flight basketball games vs. CCHS scheduled for tonight have been postponed until Thursday and the games at Northside Wednesday are cancelled.

Edenton-Chowan Schools cancelled all after-school activities this afternoon and evening. The wrestling match between First Flight and Holmes was cancelled as well.

The Currituck County Board of Commissioners meeting scheduled for tonight was cancelled. The next meeting of the Board of Commissioners is Feb. 3.

Camden County Schools will open on a two-hour delay Wednesday morning, and will decide in the morning whether to cancel classes for the day.

Elizabeth City State University’s this evening classes and other scheduled activities were cancelled. An announcement regarding ECSU’s classes for Wednesday and other university events was pending tonight.

Edenton-Chowan Schools will be closed Wednesday for students and 10-month staff. Twelve-month employees should report as conditions allow.

Perquimans County schools are also closed.
