Your cartoon about “one nation under drones” on the opinion page was delightful and even a bit scary. America’s drones have killed more than 4,000 people overseas, including innocent civilians.

These latter are merely “collateral damage” sacrificed on the altar of American “security.” Drones are now flying around overhead in America also — for “security,” of course.

You and I must be safe and secure at all costs in our crazed pursuit of the illusory American Dream. Where we used to trust in God, we now trust in drones to protect and defend us and to make us feel safe and free: “In Drones We Trust.”

In a year or two or even sooner, these drones will be equipped with AR-15s and will be circling every school, church, office building, mall, college, hospital and courthouse in America. I mean, we can’t be too careful these days, can we?
